Quote: "I wanted to break up with him but I'd never had sex and I thought, 'What a waste.' I'd gone out with him for 8 months and I thought I might as well have him. So we did it there and then. And I've been doing that ever since...very successfully."
Biography: Isla Fisher
Isla was born on the 3rd February 1976 in Muscat, Oman Saudi Arabia. Isla is the only girl in her family, with two older and two younger brothers. Her father worked as a banker and her mother was a novelist who would play an important part in Isla's wrting career.
Her family moved to Australia in the early 80's and from a young age Isla started to show an interest in both acting and writing. At the age of 9 Isla was already appearing in commercials broadcast on Australian TV. It wasn't long before things took off and she landed a few parts in a small Australian series called "Bay City." Although this was only a small time series it did give Isla the opening she required to go on and grab a part in "Paradise Beach." After the series came to an end, Isla would go on to land the part of "Shannon Reed" in one of Australia's largest soaps "Home and Away."
In 1994 Isla signed up to play a part in 'Home and Away' that would be the tuning point in her career. With this new and exciting part she started to make a name for herself. Leading her character from a no body to a drop dead sexy red head in a school outfit with blokes glued to the box wanting more.
While working on the set of 'Home and Away,' Isla also found the time for her second passion; Writing. With the help of her mother she would go on to release two best selling novels. Both based around teenage romance, "Seduced by Fame" and "Bewitched" would both become top sellers.
When the three-year contract came to an end, Isla decided to leave not only the set of 'Home and Away' but also sunny Australia. Although the producer of 'Home and Away' offered her mega bucks to stay another year or so, Isla had her heart set on leaving to hit the big time.
May 1997 Isla arrived into the UK. With her popular male fan base top selling men's magazines were knocking at her door. During that first year in the UK Isla was voted 35th sexist woman in the world by leading men's magazine FHM.
Darren Day was Isla's co-star in the Blackpool musical "Summer Holiday" & Manchester's "Cinderella" and just like one of her books the two of them started hitting it off. Later in that summer the two would set off on a romanced holiday for two. The relationship reached it's peak on the 8th of December 1998 when the news broke that they were getting engaged. Unfortunately just like the morning spring mist quickly evaporates so too did their enagement.
Isla's most recent project was playing Mary Jane in Scooby-Doo, with co-stars, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prince Jr., Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini.
